AI Sires
Dangarfield currently offers semen packages in the following bulls:
DANGARFIELD QUARTERBACK (P)SIRE: DANGARFIELD JACK JUNIOR (P) 222726 It’s straight to stardom for you young fella! I have seen sires have an instant impact for other herds, but have never had the pleasure of owning one quite like that ourselves. Quarterback (P) stands head and shoulders above any sire we have had in our herd when you look back over what he has achieved. He has now grossed over $500,000 in 4 years of progeny sales and 4 sons have been retained in herd. Quarterback (P) also holds the title for being the sire of our record top price bull at $40,000 for Dangarfield Universe (PS). Semen of Quarterback (P) has been sold into 3 states and also exported to Paraguay, South Africa, Zambia and Namibia. The constitution of Quarterback is something that has to be seen to be believed. People who have inspected him here at home have trouble believing us that he is not on feed. He holds his condition all year round. His amazing constitution and doing ability off grass is a trait he passes on strongly and we are keen to get this trait through our herd as much as possible for our pasture finishing operation. Quarterback (P) sustained a hip injury in 2013 and we did try him with some cows but it is now clear that he cannot handle a paddock for natural service. Over the last 18 months we have been using him in our ET programs with success and you will be seeing these progeny starting to come through in the next few years. Semen packages are available in Dangarfield Quarterback. Quarterback is available for export to: Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa & Namibia. |
DANGARFIELD PATROL CHIEFSIRE: DANGARFIELD KACTUS JACK 235971 When we found a bull by Kactus Jack out of a Frankinstein daughter with Capricorn Glengarry blood in her, it means we had combined some of our best blood lines over the past fifteen years or more. Patrol Chief’s dam (3647) has just weaned her sixth calf with a 362-day calving interval. Until 2010, Patrol Chief has only been used in multiple joinings with 60+ cows. In the 2009-2010 season, he did a half-season single-sired. After seeing his weaners this year, we have wasted his potential, and he will do a full single-sired season in the future. One of his sons broke our weaner weight record this year, coming in at 465kg. Remarkable considering the first half of this calf’s life was during one of our driest seasons. This is an impressive individual. Long, thick, soft and loose skinned, Patrol Chief has all the best qualities from his pedigree coming out in his progeny. WARRILLEE VERNONSIRE: WARRILEE 389 190311 A quiet achiever in our herd. Purchased at the Big S Sale in 2004 for a second top of $14,000, Vernon was selected for his breed character and perfect sheath and navel. These traits have a strong influence in his progeny, they are trim, tidy and have loads of character. Vernon has been our resident sire for joining to maiden heifers. He returns strong preg test results and his daughters are now doing the same. They are producing some big weaners for us and are versatile breeders, leaving it open to join them to a range of sires. They are an impressive group and regularly catch people’s attention upon inspection when going around Dangarfield. One of his daughters, Dangarfield Reba was shown successfully last year, winning Junior Champion Female at Bell, then Junior and Grand Champion at Wandoan, Reserve Senior Champion at the Nanango Feature Show, and second in her class at Beef 2009. His sons have sold well with 26 averaging $4,950 with a top of $11,000 for a commercial bull. Semen packages are available for Warrillee Vernon |
